Veteran children’s writer Lyn Cook has authored many titles for children, and is perhaps best known for her classic novel, The Bells on Finland Street. But she has had a varied career, from drama teacher, scriptwriter, narrator, meteorological observer in the RCAF to the first children’s librarian in Sudbury. The Hiding Place was followed by her second book set in New France, Flight from the Fortress. She received the Vicky Metcalf Award for her contribution to Canadian Children’s Literature in 1978. Lyn lives in Westport, Ontario.
